Town hall meeting with candidate for U.S. President, Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) to discuss issues important to the university community and citizens of New Orleans. The event was held on April 24, from 12 pm to 1 pm in the McCaffrey Ballroom, University Center. Norman Francis (President of Xavier University), Buddy Romer (former Governor of Louisiana) and Cindy McCain spoke for a few minutes before Sen. McCain took questions from the audience.

John Sidney McCain III was born to John Sidney McCain (1911-1981) and Roberta (Wright) McCain (1912-) in the Panama Canal Zone on August 29, 1936. He attended school in Alexandria, Virginia and went on to graduate from the United States Naval Academy (1958) and the National War College (1973). McCain began his career as a naval aviator in 1958.
